View Full Version : [xubuntu] xubuntu login extremely slow when home encrypted

I notice on several Xubuntu installations that it takes a long time (about 90 seconds) until I get a desktop when logging in with a user who has an encrypted home directory. This even happens in a "standard setup" with a freshly created user. Strangely sometimes the machine logs in without delay.
Is there any solution for this annoyance ?

I have to add that the problem must be somewhere in the authentication system: I am observing the same delay when I try to start synaptic. It takes about a minute or more until the please authenticate dialog appears.

I have the exactly same problem. Does anybody know a workaround?
