12.04 and LVM ??

Hi. Does 12.04 understand LVM out of box or will I need a respin?
Where would I find a respin?

Previously I have made standard partition for Ubuntu install and added LVM support later, but I'd rather just install / onto LVM this time (same box runs rhel - in fact, I'm tempted to just run Ubuntu as a guest OS)

It does, but to install with RAID and/or LVM you need to use the Alternate Install CD, not the standard desktop Live CD. The alternate has support for LVM.
