My CX5400 Scanner works! How in the world is that? Its not even a supported device (even though close to other CX's). Neither Mandrake or SUSE could even print decent, much less have the scanner work! OK, in all fairness under SUSE there was documentation in a posting I found that walked me through a two page process on how to do it, but this worked right off the bat without me doing anything but hit the scan button...and did I mention its not even a supported 3 in 1 printer on linuxprinting.org. I mean I print with the C84 drivers. Things just keep getting better!

I have been posting around the Internet how cool this distro is and I think I pulled in a few more people. Everyone is saying the same thing...WOW.

Nevertheless, it's supported now:

Is your scanner is connected by an USB-device?

My HP scanjet 4400c is not supported and the command scanimage -L reports:

pwc Failed to set LED on/off time.
device `v41:/dev/video0' is a Noname Logitech QuickCam Pro 4000 virtual device

That sort of user-friendly messages spents a lot of time :-(
