hello everyone,i have been searching for an answer to this question on Internet and can't find one. so, thought i would ask here. when i edit a txt.file & save it, i noticed in the terminal it will list the file twice. but one will be followed by a ~ symbol. why is that & is it normal behavior? not sure if this proper place to ask this as it doesn't really seem to be a support question. anyhow thanks kindly

I believe the one with the "~" symbol is a backup of the original. It did that for my conky file.

Shaius is correct. A tilde (~) at the end of a file name is commonly used as an equivalent to the ".BAK" extension in MS-DOS/Windows.
