Hello everyone. I have a windows XP based desktop which has Virtual PC 2007. I downloaded and installed Ubuntu 12.04 LAMP in the Virtual PC and I am having trouble getting it to boot up after the installation.

Early in the ubuntu boot I get this:

error: fdo read error

When I did the install I told Ubuntu to use every bit of the hard drive space albeit we are talking "virtual" hard drive space within Virtuap PC. I would love to get this up and running and would love any suggestions you have.

marky :P

Hmmm, fd0 is a floppy disk device, but I have no idea why it would be looking for one. Most computers don't have them any more these days.

If you can boot the virtual machine with the standard live cd, and run the boot info script from the link in my signature, it will show more details. Post the results as explained there.
