View Full Version : [lubuntu] Upgrade from 11.10 to 12.04 obsoletes qjackctl, rendering system useless

In upgrading from Lubuntu 11.10 to 12.04, the "qjackctl" component is marked as obsolete, and is removed in a way that I cannot re-install it, rendering my (MIDI music system) useless for its intended purpose.

I have had no problems in using qjackctl in Lubuntu 11.10, or 12.04 (from a fresh install).

Why has it been taken away (marked obsolete)?

If there is some reason it can't be used in Lubuntu, then I must abandon Lubuntu, since MIDI music is most of what I do, and qjackctl is a critical component in that work.

Is there a way I can get around it being marked "obsolete", so I can re-install it, or must I do a complete fresh install?
