Hi All,
Upgraded my Asus Aspire One D250 from 10.04 to 12.04 and got some unnecessary packages on the way.
Previously I had simply installed Kaffeine and Mythfrontend, using these under Ubuntu Netbook Remix.

It seems Kaffeine pulled in the complete KDE desktop.
Mythfrontend became a fully loaded Mythbackend server with MySQL.
None of these were installed previously.

No trouble removing the unnecessary packages, but just want to check if anyone else has seen similar issues and maybe this could create some benefit to upcomming 12.04.1?

thats all the meta-package mess and all these no needed cross dependencies ;)

file a bug with your comments about a requested new ubuntu-standard.

of course you already have removed the meta-packages dont you ):P

I think I managed to removed most of the unnecessary packages via synaptic. Not fully sure if something is still left.

(clicked this thread by misstake to Lubuntu section, should have been Ubuntu. Do not know if it can be changed)

It can, I did.

In future you can use the report button to bring it to our attention - this time the thread prefix is the victim of a drive by moderator incident :)
