Background in log in screen?

I used Gimp to edit an image to put my name on it, so it will look cool in my log in background but the log in background ignores half of my name but when i log in it's all fine? I mean ignore as in half my name is cut through the bottom bit of my screen.

open appearance preferences and try to adjust the fill and span settings.
