Hello All,

My laptop keeps crashing--completely freezes. I can't ctrl-alt-F2, or anything else. I've read about using sysreq keys, but that doesn't really seem like a solution. This is a brand new computer and correspondingly a new install (dual-boot with Win 7).

The issue: randomly while using the computer, it randomly freezes--screen is still visible. I have to hard-reboot. Before it boots up to the login screen, a dialog box reports that the computer is running "Low Graphics Mode". If I press the "ok" button, it goes to another prompt which I cannot interact with and I have to hard-reboot again. If instead of clicking the ok button, I "ctrl-alt-F2" then "shutdown -r now", the computer will boot up normally. Upon reboot, a dialog box comes up: a system error. The details say something like "/bin/Xorg", but the description keeps "cycling" and never shows more than that. I'm sure a txt file exists somewhere to investigate xorg, but I don't know how to do that.

This is a serious problem and I really appreciate any help I can get.
Hardware information is in figure below (lspci command).

I have seen similar issues as the ones below, but they are not quite the same:
