A fairly trivial question, I know, but does anyone know whether the Goolubuntu search page is subject to the intrusive loss of personal data that Google main is subject to?

If one masters the art of searching the relevant things , i dont believe an customized search engine is at all needed .

Google is google, chances are it's feeding in the same information.

If you want to be super safe and use google, up until recently you could use Scroogle (http://scroogle.org/), but it got shut down. (Bummer... I just found this out)

Duckduckgo (http://duckduckgo.com/) won't track you. And it lets you configure the colors so I guess you could make it look Ubuntu-y and use it as a homepage.

Thread moved to The Community Cafe.

Not an Ubuntu support request.

It's not, google's algorithms take in account what and how often you search for, which links you follow and a ton of other stuff.
Google will never EVER serve you the same result-set twice.
