Hello,

I have been unable to use any version of Ubuntu that is LiveCD or installed by Wubi. I thought it was a bad drive, but I have removed the drive and it just freezes at the welcome screen. This is all versions of Ubuntu that are available upon installation of Ubuntu such as Kubnut, Xubuntu, and the others. They install fine, but freezes just before I can log in.

I have the following system:

Cryptodan's System (http://speccy.piriform.com/results/AwkABvKLa2JL6oy2du4HkKC)

I have not tried another Linux Distor yet, and this all seems to stem from the upgrade from 11.10 to 12.04. I used 11.10 fine and was quite happy with it, however, I decided to upgrade to see what new features were added.

boot the live cd/usb, choose Try to load the desktop, open gparted, take a screenshot of it, and attach to a new reply, by using the paperclip.

if gparted is not installed, disk utility should be there instead.

The LiveCD also fails at the login screen where only a hard reset can restore the computer back to functionality.

Also I downloaded gparted and it froze as well couldn't use anything on the desktop.

I think I know the issue, and its the Marvell Controller.
