how do you install compiz

how do you install compiz? i think i installed it but i cant see any of the effects.

I believe you will need to install the Compizconfig Settings Manager to be able to enable and configure what effects you would like to use.

i tried that... it installed fine and i can see the compiz settings manager, but none of the effects are working :(

The manager yes, make sure your in the 3d unity and not the 2d as well.

On a serious (gasp!) note, just be a bit careful while playing that you don't disable anything too important. If it asks you to disable something, google it before you do. :)
