Fresh Installation of Ubutu from USB

am trying to do fresh installation of Ubuntu 12.04 LTS on my machine but am already on windows7 and i want to replace it on C, without the installation affecting my drive D.
Can u help

The installer will ask you where you want to install Ubuntu.

"Install Ubuntu alongside Windows 7" is the option you want. You also remove your D drive if your paranoid of screwing it up.

Just be on the look out because when i installed 12.04LTS on my pc (which already had Win 7) , I couldn't acces the Boot menu to select the OS i wanted to use, it just kept booting into windows. i tried all the stuff they have in forums but it didn't help had to install windows in a virtual box in Ubuntu so i can have boh Operating Systems
