None of the themes work for things like Update Manager

My computer is running Xubuntu 12.04. Currently none of themes that I change under the "Apearance" seem to effect applications such as Synaptic Package Manager or Update Manager, instead they use a grey windows looking theme. I thought it was because the theme I was using could of been incomplete, but I get the same behavior with all the defualt themes that were preinstalled. Does anyone know a way around to fix this?

Those themes are indeed "incomplete", they simply don't support GTK3 yet. So you have to find a GTK2/GTK3 compatible theme like the Greybird one.
