I have tried to install ubuntu 12.04 LTS on my Toshiba satellite c665 laptop (with intel i3 processor, Nvidia geforce 310m graphics, 4 gb ram, 500 gb hdd). I have already installed windows 7. So i want a multiboot system with ubuntu 12.04.

After a few seconds into installation, just before partitioning options appear, the following error appears:

'Installation failed.
the installer encountered an error.
copying files to the hard disk.
[Errno 5 ] Input/Output error
This is often due to a faulty CD/DVD disk or drive or a faulty hard disk. It may help to the CD/DVD to be burn at a lower speed, to check whether the hard disk is old and in need of replacement, or to move the system to a cooler environment.'

Please suggest a remedy.
Thanking in advance

i suppose you are able to use an usb stick for doing the installation on this hardware; its easier than burning on cd/dvd

burn a new disk, make sure you "check disc for errors" when you boot on it
