I thought Flash was going to be replaced with something else... Or maybe it's Adobe's animation software that's going to be replaced?

I think HTML5 is slowly replacing flash anyway.
It won't matter in a few years.

Wow, that's pretty cool. Hopefully it will be able to do more than just video.

Well it might be there to help the transition, if shumway is open source then that is very good news for us as the developers can help make it available for other browsers.

If they pull this off, I will be quite pleased. Gnash and other free implementations of Flash aren't the greatest (although Gnash fulfills my needs pretty well).

Cool, with someone like Mozilla backing this, I can see this becoming quickly superior to other efforts like Gnash, etc. If this ends up being good, I might switch back to Firefox for my default browser. I like both browsers, but for now, I use Chrome as my default.



This sounds like it would have terrible performance.
No different than the proprietary Flash plugin if that's the case :P
