I just installed 12.04 via wubi and am having the same problem. I have basic *nix knowledge (i.e. enough to run top and google "mount.ntfs cpu" and find this thread) but am no sysadmin.

What are my options? How do I unmount the offending drive (idiot's guide would be useful)? I mean I only installed Ubuntu to mess around with node.js and mongodb (I'm a web developer, but as I said, no sysadmin...). But this kind of thing is basically going to have me using Windows as my main OS forever, especially when I see that this bug has been known since 2009 or something.

I can't be the only one in this situation, it's a shame as I would love to be able to run Ubuntu as my main OS.

Getting this when you do anything in particular? Or just all the time?
