Fedora/Red Hat has surrendered to Microsoft's certificate for secure boot. This is a shame for us, the open source community. Fedora/Red Hat is one of the major Linux distro. I hope and wish Ubuntu does not follow Fedora/Red Hat! But I am not sure. Who is Microsoft to decide that??? Anyway, what course in your opinion Ubuntu would take? If all major distros surrender to Microsoft for secure boot it would be a shame for us.

I'm not sure that the way you've framed the question is all that accurate. Secure booting may not be a bad thing. Just because MS is endorsing it doesn't make it the root of all evil.

I heard about this, sad that they have to do this but then again, you never know what good this will do for the users of UEFI BIOS. I don't really find this key useful at all, but oh well.
