View Full Version : [xubuntu] Wifi enable

AlexMrKlim

Hi All !

Some times ago, I had Ubuntu (unity), and my wifi worked correctly.
Yesterday, I installed XUbuntu (xfse). In the "Settings -> Additional Drivers" I don't see driver for wifi.

How I can enable wifi \ install driver or something else ?

No wifi adapter is detected. Does it have physical switch which is "off" at the moment?

AlexMrKlim
June 3rd, 2012, 12:29 PM
I have one physical switch to turn on\off both bluetooth and wifi.
At the moment switch is on, but I can use only bluetooth.

I have read that if both Bluetooth and wifi are enabled, the Bluetooth can interfere with wifi. Try disabling bluetooth.

Sorry..
How can I turn off bluetooth ?
And I think, that I should install driver for wifi too. Or not ?

can we see a

and a

You can't install a driver for wifi when there is no way to see what driver you might need to install.

Many drivers are already included in the kernel, so disabling bluetooth may indeed be an answer, but I am not sure how you can do that if you are running 12.04.
