View Full Version : [ubuntu] Remove Unity Bar

June 3rd, 2012, 11:10 AM
How do I remove the Unity Bar from my Desktop. I think that it is ugly and takes up screen real estate on my Netbook & I prefer the standard Gnome Desktop like in the 10.04 LTS release where there was a choice between Netbook & Desktop versions?

I'm looking for the same thing. I've read in abt alt+right click is used in the menu's instead of right click as it always was, and have read something about a dconf editor. Can't post the links since I'm currently on my cellphone. Hope it helps.

I enabled compiz, disabled the unity plugin under desktop in the settings manager, then went back to metacity. It was gone.

Hope that helps
