When i start the installation of a relatively newer version of Ubuntu ( I have tried with 10.04 and 11.04) i get an error that looks something like

phy0 -> rt2500usb_init_eeprom: Error - Invalid RT Chipset Detected
phy0 -> rt2x00lib_probe_dev: Error - Failed to allocate Device

I used Unetbootin. i have tried using many usb sticks, so am pretty sure that is not the problem. It works fine with older versions of ubuntu and mint. But the newer versions are giving me the above problem. I tried using acpi=off and blacklist rt2500usb in the boot menu. But still the result was no different.
