I have no idea what is going on with Ubuntu 12.04 lately, it was working fine for me since I did a clean install of it. But since yesterday it's turned to poo. When I start up the laptop everything seems fine, I get the loading screen before the login screen, then either at the login screen or a wee bit after I login my screen just seems to not respond and turns off. I can hear stuff in the background like if I turn up or down the volume. So it's not frozen.
It's driving me crazy, I some how got it to work fine yesterday by pure luck but today it just wont stay on. Does anyone know of a fix or if this is a common bug?

Edit: I think my screen may be going, it turns off even in the Bios option page not just before or after I try to login. But I'm not 100% sure if its software related or hardware. Any input would be great.
