Hi,

I'm trying to install ubuntu alongside to win XP on my computer -
Sony VAIO VGNSZ280P. I'm doing it by boot from CD (burned).
The installation is getting started but get stucked once it's on
network configuration. Message is shown "network configuration..."
but nothing is happening.

What do you think could be the problem? Do you have any advices?

Thanks,
sakasaliba

Are you certain you have the internet connected and active? It wouldn't hurt to double check.

Thanks for your reply.

My internet is connected but the computer is not connected by cable
but WiFi so I think that at the initial stage it's not connected.
Are you sure that I must be connected?

The following message is appeared:

"Waiting up to 60 more seconds for network configuration"

but I'm waiting and nothing is happening.. (for hours)

If you can connect by wire, yes. You can run the system wireless, but installing by wire gives less problems.
