hey everybody!

I have a problem installing ubuntu.
I used unetbootin to let ubuntu install from a usb disk.
It load to the menu where i can choose to run ubuntu live or install it, etc.
no mather what I choose, i loads for a while and then the screen goes black and the monitor shows out of sync.
With lili usb creator I have the same problem.
Any help would be appreciated!!

thx

EDIT:

took out my video card and connected my monitor to the onboard vga and now it seems to be working.
Will it work when I put in my video card again though?

If the video card doesn't work after you've completed the installation using the onboard VGA, then you may need to compile/install/load the driver for your particular video card.

What you'll then have to do is to install its drivers in Ubuntu, and THEN insert the card (with the computer off, of course) and it should work. ; )

Cheers!

well if your card was plugged in once ubuntu is installed and booted you will get a list of additional drivers one will be for your video card ..

if the card is not in at the time of your first boot it should get detected on reboot hopefully when you=go to system settings the notice will be there to down load and activate its driver ...
