Hi and welcome to the forums.

Ubuntu is especially designed for those of us who do not know coding. I am assuming that you are using Ubuntu Precise Pangolin (12.04).

If so, then you can try these things.

On the left side of the screen there will be a panel called the Launcher. Click on the top icon (Ubuntu icon). This will open the Dash. Type help into the search panel. And press Enter. This will load the Ubuntu Desktop Guide. Read it.

Also, press and hold down the Super key (key with flying Windows logo) That will do two things. It will put numbers on the icons in the launcher. Press a number and the program with that number will load. You will also see an overlay showing keyboard short cuts.

Some software is installed by default. We have the Libreoffice suite which has a word processor, speadsheet, presentation and we can also install a database for Libreoffice.

There is a web browser (Firefox) which you must be using. To see what other software is installed open the Dash (tap the Super key) and click on the second icon from the left on the bottom of the Dash. It looks like a ruler, pen and pencil. That is the application lens. It will reveal icons for all the applications installed. You can use those icon to launch applications. click on filter results - you can choose a selection of applications.

We have the Ubuntu Software Centre. It is on the launcher (icon of a shopping bag). It will install software for us.

In the power/cog menu we have System Settings.

What kind of software are you thinking of?

Regards.

There are so many, we can't count them all...

Maybe you can have a look at this thread:
Cool applications you use that others might not know of (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=382137)
and try some of the most interesting ones.

I'm sure you haven't check everything in the software centre there are many many thousands of programs there, there are some games not many for linux how ever there are windows games out there that have play on linux and Wine that can help many games and programs for windows run on linux ..

I would suggest getting use to Ubuntu and understanding linux a bit before you get to involved with wine , how ever like I said there are games for window right out of the box that come with play on linux there own version of wine that I understand is not to hard to install Diablo 3 I believe will play on linux not sure how hard it is to get going though

the problem you run into with these things is that you have to understand working in the terminal and a bit of programming to get some stuff to work well .

if you want yo try your skill and learn a little programming I found a good place to start is is conky it can be as simple or as complicated and adaptable as you most likely would want makes a it make a neat desk top tool you design .. do a forum search for conky check out this link .

Not true at all ;) Ubuntu is designed with new users in mind, unlike most other Linux distros.

Not into coding is fine, but if you get interested in it, I would check out quickly. It's a nice little development ecosystem for ubuntu applications. Very low barrier to get started.

sudo apt-get install quickly

You can go here for more information:

please tell me everything .

We can't. There is too much knowledge available. For someone 15, the best way to learn is to play around, have specific things you want to do, use online search tools to see how others did the same thing, read the thousands and thousands of help pages, then - after all that, ask for help.

If you are stuck with a specific issue, ask here. We'd like to help, but since Ubuntu and Linux is huge, we can't guess what "tell me everything" really means and definitely cannot reply here with 20+ yrs worth of knowledge. There are experts here an almost every aspect of Ubuntu willing to help.

You seem to be interested in gaming on Linux. Have you tried playing the 1000+ games already?
I don't use the "software center", so I don't know how many games are shown there, but over 1000 are available to be easily installed. Whether a game is good or not is all opinion. I am not a gamer.

If you want to see the games as quickly as possible, people will post game play on youtube. I searched for "best linux games" and it showed a bunch of links, youtube and top 10 articles on the web that you might find interesting.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TC2s8Qfslko

You might try searching for "best ubuntu games" too. I've heard about driving games and flight simulators that were fantastic. There's also Mindcraft, which seems to be very popular.

Another great place for ideas and help is your local LUG - Linux Users Group - in your town.
If you have specific questions, we'd like to help. Please ask.

We can't. Ask specific questions or tell us what you want to do. Browse the internet for linux tutorials and read what you find interesting! Test programs and terminal commands to get a hands-on feeling!

Ok.

Ubuntu is not Windows
YOU will need to learn to do things on YOUR OWN
There is a helpful community, but YOU need to ask specific questions and provide specific information to help them help YOU.
There is lots and lots of howto documents - many are step-by-step - to accomplish any specific goals. Internet search will help you find them.
WE really DO want to help.

You just need to ask something specific. Think of something you wanted to do, but couldn't. Ask about that - knowing that Linux is not Windows.
