Hello everyone. I am going to be switching to Ubuntu and I wanted to ask if 64 bit has any hardware incompatibility problems.

I have a Compaq 6910p Notebook

Mobility Radeon x2300 128MB
Core 2 Duo 2.2 ghz
4GB RAM

I run 64 bit on my systems and have yet to have any hardware incompatibilities. The only difference between 32 and 64 bit is that 32 bit is meant more for older computers that have 32 bit processors and 64 bit is for newer machines with 64 bit processors. Other than that there is no difference in the operating system or the hardware it will work on.

suggets you give it a try in live system (ie. boot form CD or USB and select try it).

the issues i see here might be GPU support. these might use opensource drivers only and i am not sure how well this chip is supported. additionally perpahs updating drivers to development version might improve support if it turns out ot be poor.
