I am installing Xubuntu 12.04 on a virgin Zotac Zbox nano plus. 2 GB RAM 320 GB HD. Monitor is my Vizio tv through HDMI 2. Installation is via usb drive, though the same issue occurs if I attempt to install Ubuntu 9.04 via dvd drive-black screen after hitting "install to hd" option.

At attempting to install I get a black screen. Something is happening as I get a screen full of information when I power off.

Found thread on using F6 to force graphics into nomodeset(or sim. term). Cannot get to this point. My options are to run in live mode, install to hd and a few other items.

How do i invoke F6?

Thanks

Yeah, as soon as the computer starts booting from the CD, in other words, as soon as it gets past the Bios screen, keep pressing any key unless you see the boot options page.
