Wrong Resolution on HDMI TV

Hey there,

I'm trying to connect my pc to a TV. The mainboard (Intel DH61DL) has an DVI-D exit, which I'm using with an HDMI adapter to connect to a Sharp TV.

When I turn on the computer the picture is fine, I can enter the bios and so on. But when it starts booting the OS the screen turns dark.

If I connect an additional screen to the computer, I see that the TV has the wrong resolution, 720x570. Insead of 1920x1080. In the drop down menu is nothing else to select.

The screen is identified as an Sharp Corporation 37", which is basically correct.

I have no idea what I can do about that. I'm very grateful for any hint and tip!

Could you post the content of these files right after a boot with the TV connected?

That's a very odd resolution (check marked red text).

Do you have a way to verify your TV's resolution? Like a manual or in the TV manufacture site (I mean the actual display size)?

Another options would be that the info is corrupted. Have you tried another input?

but a store that sells it says it can 1080i and 720p.

Actually I did find something saying:

After the modes name was the frequency missing. I put 50 there, but that doesn't work. As I'm in Europe, shouldn't that be 60 anyway?

That modeline doesn't seem to be available. Here are more from your own log:

Thank you very much for your help and patience.

Unfortunately nothing worked - I tried all the configs from the log file.

I even tried windows from another disc, which worked also in a strange way. The picture was shown properly, the TV claimed to see 1080i 50 Hz but the actual Windows resolution was 640x480. Then I installed the proper graphics driver and after a reboot the screen stayed dark - which was the end of the windows tryout...

I also connected the PC to the TV without any other screen attached and tried to change resolutions remoltly - focusing on the 720p ones from the log file. But also here nothing worked out.

As it's not my TV, and I only use it for another 4 months, I decided to use VGA port of the TV and stretch the image to full screen and adjust the pixel ratio on the computer to 0.75.
It's not ideal, but well, it works for now...
