I am running 12.04 and ran the usual Update Manager update. After I rebooted all the default Home folders were empty: Documents, Downloads, Music, Pictures, Videos, etc. Any custom folders I made in the Home directory were not effected. Perhaps unrelated when I did the reboot it also installed Dropbox and Chrome as if they were not previously on the computer (which they were.) I am also using Home directory encryption if that is relevant.
Any suggestions on where my files went and how to get them back would be much appreciated.
