todays updates killed my browsers but not Skype

Hi,

I am running 12.04.Everything working.Today at work I said yes to the whatever updates of the day and now my browsers do not work when i got back home but Skype does.bizarre.:KS

I am connected to the wifi fine.
I have cleaned browsers cache.
I have a Dell laptop.Yes I had the wifi problem when I upgraded to 12.04 but fixed thanks to this forum.

Any idea?

Hi,

If I connect via VPN to my company, from home, then I can use the browsers (Chrome or Firefox). If I disconnect the VPN, they do not work.

Hi,

I found the problem.

I do not know why, but last update, that I did while in the office, the file /etc/resolv.conf had some lines referring to domains in my office.

So, I cleaned that file and then the Internet came back without the need of VPN!
