I just installed Xubuntu on an older laptop. At log in I can select Xubuntu or Xfce session. Aside from the wallpaper, they look the same. What is the difference?

thanks,
Brad

As per the actual interface difference i'm not sure but Xubuntu is XFCEUbuntu and I know that this used to be just ubuntu deployed with XFCE. Generally in my experience the XFCE option is post installation XFCE. That's as far as my knowledge goes I would try to use Xubuntu I would assume your settings would be stored in there but I don't know your rig i'm just guessing on that.

I'm not sure if it still applies in 12.04.
In brief, there is not much difference. The default XFCE theme is more basic but as soon as you change it, it will apply to the Xubuntu session theme and vice versa. Panels are the same.
