I am new to Ubuntu. I am trying to install it, but I am having problems with the install because of my wireless card (I think).

I have an old Dell 32 bit XP Home edition with a Linksys 2.4ghz wmp54GS v. 1.4 that won't connect when trying to get the install going. It just kept telling me it was install and to wait.

I search around and found out a little about something called a NDISWrapper, but I couldn't open it and install. It had a .tar extension.

I've also seen on some of the forums talk about opening up the "system" and then "administration". My old XP doesn't have the tab for "administration".

Also instructions to open "terminal windows" leave me confused.

I used Wubi to install the Ubuntu. When I first installed it, it seemed to get stuck in the pink screen, saying it is preparing to run for the first time. It stayed like this for hours.
