Hi all,
i ha ve an Ubuntu 11.04 with the standard command bar on the left.
Is it possible to resize the icons?
I'd like to have them smaller ...

You can resize the whole panel might be available in the change backgrounds right click on desktop, definitely in the compiz plugin in compizconfig settings manager which needs installing.

EDIT:

Oops! You said 11.04. My bad. Googled and found this tutorial (http://schwarzschildmetric.com/2011/05/03/resize-unity-launcher-icons-in-ubuntu-11-04/) for 11.04. First google hit I came a cross so, I don't know if it works or not.

now i moved to 12.04 but since i have 2D i'm not able to access to that setting.
