View Full Version : [xubuntu] xubuntu freezing when shutting down

Hello all,

I am new to xubuntu (as well as to all GNU/Linux OS's).

I recently installed xubuntu 12.04 on an old PC we had standing around collecting dust.

It all seemed to work alright until I shut it down. The "bar" beneath the xubuntu logo travels two quarters then it stops and the screen freezes.

- Is it possible that something has happened with the installation?
- How do I do if I want to try to reinstall the same version?

It seems that I can not reinstall it with the DVD that I have created.
I removed Windows so it is only running on xubuntu, now.

Best regards
Anders

Hello BlinkinCat,

Oops! No, I didn't. I have only downloaded one complete OS before (UbuntuStudio) and it worked so smoothly I was more or less unaware of things like checksums.

But I will definately check this.

Thank you!
