Hi all,

I have Ubuntu 12.04 64-bit and I would like to add VLC commands in the sound menu. I read I had to download version 2 and enable D-Bus service, but I still cannot see commands.

Could anyone help me on this?

Thanks.

Have you already enabled dbus in VLC?

The way I did it was in VLC select Tools - Prefenences, tick All in Show Settings, Navigate to Interface - Control Interface and tick dbus and save settings.

Restart VLC and they should show up in the Sound Menu.
The Controls will only show up when VLC is open though.
On another Computer I had to log out and back in for it to work

I use VLC From the Ubuntu Software Center it's Version 2.0.1

I've attached an image below.

Hope this helps :)

Hi,

thanks for the response. Instructions I was reading were related to another setting to enable D-Bus service ID. I'll try that.

Thanks.
