I've been trying to get kmail running on a system recently upgraded to Precise Pangolin.
However, when it starts up, there are no folders (even inbox, drafts, trash...). Also in all appropriate menus, the "new folder" option is greyed-out.
I don't think I've used kmail on this machine before (nor any other mail client). However, I probably copied my home directory from an earlier machine and I think that I did run kmail on that one about 5 years ago.
I did not have a "Mail" directory in my home directory, and creating an empty one did not help.
My guess is that there is a defunct configuration file(s) somewhere that need to be removed to stop kmail being confused, but where?
