Is there any hardware acceleration for openjre7, with opengl nvidia drivers installed ?

I have hardware accelerated applet with sun java but not with openjre7 ?

i have installed 'openjdk-7-jdk openjdk-7-jre icedtea-plugin', im with ubuntu 11.10 ?

Is this working better with 12.04 ?

Hardware acceleration with opengl on my applet is working ok with eclipse appletviewer, but still not with firefox applet ?
