Most weird , uncommon GUI Desktop OS

I have a spare PC pentium 3 with 256 ram . I want to shock my friends by installing some weird OS on it .

And I want it to do some basic tasks , connect to internet listen to mp3 songs etc

suggest me some OSes (no Linux or BSD as they are common in my campus)

You could try an AROS distribution, like Icaros. I did a review of it here:

There's Syllable, though on the surface it doesn't look much different than some random LXDE distribution (quite a different beast under the hood).

And of course, the new fav of the fringe OS crowd, Haiku.

I'd say go with Linpus-Lite. It's desktop is definitely "weird".

This OS is fairly talked about . I use it on a 12 year old IBM thinkpad . It looks so cool on that machine even if it is still an alpha (the machine had win 98 installed )

If you don't want to go with Haiku, then I would also recommend AROS. The Linux Action Show guys did a review on it a few months back... looks pretty cool.

It is in development (version 0.312). It mimics Windows in every possible way and is compatible with Windows applications/drivers. But it has better security. Good for those who are average users familiar only with Windows

I was under the impression that the goal was an odd User Interface.

CDE is empty, I'll give it that.
React's Start menu clone would be deceptive, but familiar.
Is OpenIndiana giving an option other than Sun's old CDE or Java-fused Gnome?
