I'm split between choices over the cpu to have when buying a notebook.
I am seeking a sub $650 notebook. And I want to do programming (in C and Python), test compression algorithms, and do a little video transcoding.
Is i5 2430M 2.4 GHz turbo 3GHz better than i3 2350M 2.3 GHz with no turbo boost?
The notebooks are.

Or is this better

Or should I get an AMD APU.
Any other suggestions.
