The manual upgrade from 10.04 LTS to 12.04 LTS

The upgrade manager is not showing 12.04 LTS upgrade. What is the manual method to start the upgrade?

I am presently running 10.04 LTS and I want to due the LTS to LTS upgrade.

Note: Release upgrade is set to "Long term support releases only"

Upgrading_from_Ubuntu_10.04_LTS_to_Ubuntu_12.04_LT S says: "It is generally recommended that users of Ubuntu 10.04 LTS wait until the first point release, due in July, before upgrading." Follow the instructions there if you want to upgrade earlier since the following instructions will probably not work until then.


So, that is probably why you are not being offered an upgrade through Update Manager at the moment. But the second link will give a different method
