HI,

I am wondering, how do I tell XUBUNTU that there's a 32 gig FAT partition on the Windows computer ( two separate computers) that I want to link up to, to where I can save my files on it, since this computer has a 40 gig hardrive on it?

Trying to save money and NOT go out and have to buy an external.

The Windows PC is running Windows 7 Home Prem..

I am running Xubuntu 12.04

Thanks,
Christopher

That will save money, but not a good backup plan, if the hard drive dies, it will, everything is lost, external is best.

If Thunar is not showing that partition Gparted will show where it is.

I think the app you're looking for is System/Gigolo (file sharing over Samba in Xfce).

As for external storage. Pfft. USB thumb drives cost you about $10 for a 16 GB drive nowadays. For serious storage, good 1 TB drives go for about $100.
