I decided to give the xmonad desktop environment a try. First I did a 'sudo apt-get install gnome-panel' as the prerequisite for running Xmonad on Gnome. I then did a 'sudo apt-get install xmonad'. Once it was installed I logged off and logged in again using the Xmonad on Gnome menu option. I then attempted to open a terminal using 'alt-shift-enter'. The terminal opened for a few seconds but immediately crashed. I was unable to open any other applications on that workspace. The 'alt-shift-enter' command did work on other workspaces. Has anyone else experienced this as well? Did you manage to find a fix for it?
