Laptop upgraded from 11.10 to 12.04 with no problems. In 11.10 xscreensaver was installed and lock worked fine from unity UI. After upgrade the anticipated Precise screen lock with lightdm login screen did not occur; rather it looked as if part of the xscreensaver was still installed, although the package itself was not. The ctrl-alt-L shortcut did not function. Installed xscreensaver OK (although I still have to fix the ctrl-alt-L shortcut).

Clearly there was something of xscreensaver and associated settings from 11.10 that was not completely removed by the 12.04 upgrade script. I'd like to put this machine into a state that enacts the 12.04 screen lock using lightdm login for resume -- any ideas on how to do that?
