Ubuntu Webcam Issue

Dear All,
Can anyone tell me how can i use any Webcam on UBUNTU 11.10
or, is there any webcam which give full support on UBUNTU 11.10 desktop edition.
I tried with cheese and one more default webcam support but noone working fine with skype and Webcam.

i am having kinda the same issue

i have an acer aspire 5100

i have ubuntu 12.4 x64

when i loaded unbuntu and it had me choose a pictue my built in webcam worked. but now when i go to run it, it doesnt show up in the list
