Hello,

i just installed my server with the newest version of Ubuntu, 12.04. I installed Apache2. PHP5 , mysql5.5, and phpmyadmin, this all went fine, the server is up adn running, then in my internal network i want to be able to RDP into the Ubuntu machine...

I want RDP over VNC since i need sound and the VNC doesn't support this and doesn't seem to refresh smoothly, also i don't want to need to logon before i can enter a users desktop.

Now i have used XRDP in the past without problems, easy install actually. Also on Windows 7 it didn't seem to give a problem but now it does.

This is what happens;

- I installed XRDP
- Rebooted
- Open RDP client in Windows
- I get the right login screen for XRDP
- i leave it as sesman-Xvnc, fill in user/pass

Then i get this::

Connection Log

connecting to sesman ip 127.0.0.1 port 3350
sesman connect ok
sending login information to sesman
xrdp_mm_process_login_response:login syccessful for displa (can't read further,box ends)
started connecting
connecting to 127.0.0.1 5910
error - problem connecting

Anybody any idea what i can do to make it work?

I had the same problem until I installed vnc4server. It's a recommended package for xrdp but I don't install those by default.
