Hi,
I upgraded finally to 11.10 to solve a different issue, and got a couple more.
I use a dvorak keyboard layout, and my girlfriend uses querty. I use kde, she uses gnome.
I need a login and screen lock manager that has these features:
Plays nicely with kde
Plays nicely with gnome
Lets you select any available window manager/desktop configuration, AND THEN PLAYS NICELY WITH IT
Lets you choose which keyboard to use during login.
When I say "plays nicely with" it means you can not only launch your session with that one, but when you exit it doesn't blow a bunch of errors. For example, using kdm if I log in with the default 11.10 setup you can't log out because kdm doesn't support whatever is going on with that setup. It fails, shows an unhelpful error dialog and then leaves you logged in.
