If I bite the bullet and do a direct upgrade from 11.10 to 12.04 using the kubuntu upgrade too, what will happen to all the PPA repos I've added? Will they get wiped or will they be used during the upgrade?

Cheers

The will be switch off and you will have to turn them back on after the upgrade.

](*,)Also they might not be compatible anymore.....

If you want your system working with out extra bugs
I recommend a clean install.... Back up everything

hope this helps...

Back up everything

/home is actually enough.

depends what kind of PPA's you have. but since it disables them all i guess there is no problme comming form them. at leats until they get enabled again. but for some it's liek nothing happened. especially if they are not tied to version e.g. drivers for samsung printer

Tha ks for the comments.

I've been doing fresh installs ever since I started using Linux but I really don't want to spend extra time removing all the stuff I don't need that gets installed and installing all the things I do need this time around.

If I find time tomorrow I'll just let the upgrade do its thing and see what happens.
