In the past versions of Gnome I loved how you could move a window to another workspace by starting a alt-left mouse drag (move) on it and then hitting your change workspace -keybind (which happened to be conveniently alt-<number>); the workspace would change and the currently dragged window would follow.

I've been unable find how to do this with Unity. Not exactly a crucial issue but if someone would point me in the right direction (in case this is indeed possible in Unity) i'd be grateful ;)

Are you aware that you can move a window by selecting the workspace icon and the dragging windows between workspaces.

Does this fit your requirements.

Yeah that + right click + "Move window to workspace xxx" isn't too shabby either, just gotten used to the abovementioned way which was quite fast too.
