Hi All,
Just finally got round to upgrading from 10.10, seeing as support is ending for that version and the improvements to the gnome classic mode in 12.04 mean it now looks like a viable alternative to those who don't like Unity.
I used the CD to upgrade my install from 10.10 straight to 12.04. I then installed the gnome-panel packages from the repositories.
Everything is working great, and I'm more impressed than I thought I would be with the new version. Just one thing is letting it down, and that's the fact that the background colour of the window list is wrong:
