Hello all,

A few minutes ago I completed an extensive upgrade.
Starting from 10.10, I made a series of updates: 11.04, 11.10 and finally 12.04.

Not liking the Unity interface, I tried to install Cinnamon, only to find that I cannot use the terminal.
When I open a terminal window, it opens without a cursor, and whatever I try, I cannot input any text.

The strangest part is that when I type "exit" the terminal window closes, even though I don't see a cursor, and can't see what I'm typing.

Does anyone have a solution?

Thank you very much for your trouble.

Hans

Do this.
Open teminal
type sudo apt-get install sakura
type your password
hit enter

Then open sakura from the unity top button and try to see what your typing
